Autism
Psychological assessments querying autism spectrum disorders. With experience and tools to work with:
- Children
- Youth
- Adults
- Women
Both standardized and research tools are used to collect information from the client and those around them to determine if the criteria for ASD is met. A cognitive and functional assessment is also included along with direct and indirect measures to gather information from the person and those around him/her/them. Typically 6-9 hours spent with the clinicians for this assessment.
ADHD
Psychoeducational assessments for children, youth, and adults starting at age 6.
A comprehensive assessment battery is used to understand historical behaviour, current symptoms, and direct measures to examine sustained attention. In children, completed as part of a psychoeducational assessment that is typically 6 hours with the clinician. Adult assessments may differ depending on the assessment purpose.
Specific Learning Disorder (SLD)
Psychoeducational assessments that examine the cognitive and academic skills of each individual. Typically 6 hours is reserved for each person to complete both primary and secondary measures to examine the specific areas of difficulty within reading, writing, and math. Previously called learning disabilities and also known as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
Intellectual Disability
Specific assessments available for all types of individuals to assess for their skillset regardless of the type of disability that they may possess. Both cognitive and functional assessments are completed which can be applicable for applications to Developmental Services Ontario.
Counselling
Psychotherapy
Offered to children, youth, and adults from a psychoeducational perspective to understand recent diagnoses, parenting neurodivergent children, and gaining a sense of self-identity. Our counselling team can work with an individual or family to assist in understanding a diagnosis, coping with various challenges one may face, and moving towards the self-affirming movement of neurodiversity within our community.
