Eli is a registered clinical psychologist who does assessment (children/teens/adults) and therapy (older teens and adults).  He has been in the mental health since 2007 and he got licensed in the US as a psychologist in 2015 (he only recently moved to Ontario and got his license here).  He has experience with both neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals.  He specializes in trauma and anxiety but also has a lot of experience with a wide range of mental health concerns (including mood disorders, ADHD, Autistic burnout, etc).  He is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist, but he is always learning more about the intricacies of Autism and neurodivergence. He has a passion for evidence-based treatment including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT; he's a Preferred Provider for CPT), and tries to tailor treatment to each of his clients needs.  His approach is neuroaffirmative in that he believes that Autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent brain-types are just variations of human experience, and that each neurodivergent person has their own strengths, differences and struggles (but unfortunately our current society was made with neurotypical folks in mind).  While he strongly believes that culture and identity impact our experiences of the world, he is also aware that each person's experience is unique (and sometimes isn't relevant to what someone wants to address).  He has experience working with people with a wide variety of identities (e.g. racial/ethnic, 2SLGBTQIA+, immigrant, religious, neurodivergent, income level, disabled, and others) and is fluent in Spanish.  His therapy style is warm, gently direct, psych geeky (get ready to learn some facts haha!), skills-based, open to feedback and humorous.  His favorite sessions include a combination of facing difficult emotions and laughing hysterically.  When he is not working, he likes hiking, playing video games, reading, writing, learning to play the ukelele, streaming tv shows and spending time with his wife and dogs.
