Grief, Loss, & Bereavement

Grief is a deeply personal and often complex experience that can affect every part of life. Grief, loss, and bereavement psychotherapy and counselling provide a compassionate, supportive space to explore the emotional, physical, and relational impacts of loss—at a pace that feels right for you.


There is no single or “correct” way to grieve. Therapy honours your unique experience, whether you are navigating the death of a loved one, anticipatory grief, complicated or prolonged grief, relationship loss, identity loss, or major life transitions. Sessions focus on understanding your grief responses, reducing isolation, and supporting gentle adjustment to life after loss.


Psychotherapy may help with processing intense emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, shock, or numbness; coping with triggers, anniversaries, and uncertainty; and finding meaning while maintaining an ongoing connection to what has been lost. Counselling is collaborative and client-centred, offering validation, practical coping strategies, and emotional support during both acute and long-term phases of grief.


Our approach is trauma-informed, respectful, and grounded in empathy. You are not expected to “move on” or follow a timeline—support is available to help you carry your grief with care, compassion, and hope.

A safe and empathetic environment for grief counselling is a non-judgmental space where individuals feel validated, allowing them to express their deepest emotions without fear or pressure to "move on". It is a compassionate sanctuary that prioritizes trust, active listening, and the client's unique pace, empowering them to honor their loss while finding a gentle way forward. 

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help you process and release the emotional burden of traumatic memories. By utilizing bilateral stimulation, this approach enables your brain to reprocess stuck, distressing experiences so they no longer disrupt your daily life, allowing you to heal without needing to verbally recount the details of your trauma.
